It is situated about 20 miles South of the busy town and port of King’s Lynn and 15 miles North West of its historic postal town of Thetford.

There are many facilities that serve our community.  These include: a secondary education academy, a primary school, a church, many clubs and societies, sports facilities, a few local shops, village hall complex, two public houses & a social club.  If you wish to find out more about the parish, take a look at the independently run local Parish Website.

Ever wondered what your Parish Council is here to do?

Parish councils vary in size depending on population and is set by the local Borough Council. Methwold Parish Council has 13 seats. All members must live within an area in or around Methwold Parish and they represent the parish on various matters.  The council are effectively the third tier of local government, the other two being Norfolk County Council and King’s Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council. The Full Council meets at 7.30 pm usually on the second Thursday of the month in the Fenton Room in the St. George’s Hall Complex.  The public is very welcome to attend and we encourage people to speak during the open forum which is part of each formal meeting.  We discuss varying issues which affect the community and are directly responsible for:
